Shawn J. Tennis is an attorney at the Law Offices of David J. Hoey, P.C. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Mt. Washington College, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Massachusetts School of Law in 2015. Shawn successfully passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam in February of 2016 and was sworn in as an attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in June of that same year.

Shawn wasted no time getting his feet wet in the industry by earning and accepting a law clerk position at the Law Offices of David J. Hoey, P.C. during his third year at Massachusetts School of Law. Shawn took this position as a great learning opportunity, and quickly realized what an important field Attorney Hoey represented and admired Attorney Hoey’s passion and dedication to our older generations.

During his time with the Law Offices of David J. Hoey, P.C., Shawn spent nine months as a law clerk and shortly after passing the bar exam was promoted to an attorney position. Shawn’s devotion to his clients has contributed to mediations and settlements resulting in recoveries in the multimillion-dollar range. Shawn is eager to continue serving as a voice for our aging population for many years to come.

Applying his knowledge of personal injury law, and more specifically, nursing home abuse and neglect cases, Shawn contributed to the article “Assisted Living Facilities Cases: What Are They If They Are Not Nursing Homes?” that was published in the Fall 2017 edition of The Trial Lawyer magazine.

When he isn’t fighting for the rights of the elderly and the disabled, Shawn thoroughly enjoys cooking (especially breakfast). Shawn also enjoys reading and traveling with his family. Some of his favorite places to travel include the Dominican Republic, San Diego, CA , and the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Shawn is eager and excited to welcome the birth of his first son in July of this year and looks forward to the challenge of balancing a family while still dedicating his life to his passion, the law.

Shawn is a member of the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, and American Association for Justice.
